In Ohio, the legal method of sale for firewood is the cord or a fraction of a cord. A cord is defined as 128 cubic feet. Firewood must be labeled in cubic feet or cubic inches. Be sure to request a receipt which has the name and address of the vendor as well as the delivery date and the total price of the amount delivered. All persons selling firewood must also obtain a vendors license.
