Top Summit County elected officials will be taking their oath of office on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 4:30pm. The public ceremony will be held in the rotunda of the John S. Knight Center, located at 77 Mill Street in downtown Akron.
Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE has announced that her office conducted a Negotiated Tax Certificate Lien Sale on Friday, November 30, 2012. Woods Cove III, LLC had a successful bid of $5.1 million on 1,196 parcels. And Propel Financial Services had a successful bid of $302,357.12 for 45 parcels.
Parcels that sold consisted of residential, commercial and industrial properties. The Fiscal Office was able to collect $5.4 million in delinquent tax dollars as a result of the sale.

Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE has announced 2013 dog licenses will be available for purchase as of December 1, 2012. 2013 license renewal forms are being mailed to dog owners the week of December 1, 2012. Dog licenses cost $14. Ohio law requires licenses to be renewed between December 1 and January 31 each year. A late fee equal to the cost of the license will be charged for applications received after January 31, 2013. If your dog has a Dangerous Dog designation, it must be registered per O.R.C. This is in addition to your annual registration.
Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE has announced a third billing for parcels that have delinquent taxes. The tax bills will be mailed beginning Tuesday, October 23, 2012 as a courtesy to our taxpayers.
The closing date for payment will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Failure to pay by the due date may result in publishing the taxpayer’s name in a newspaper publication as required by law.
