Scalise CPA, CFE has announced that first half 2021 manufactured homes tax bills were mailed Thursday, January 28, 2021. Taxpayers should be advised that the United States Post Office is currently experiencing large volumes of mail and frequent delays, which may impact tax bill and payment deliveries. Due to COVID-19, taxpayers are encouraged to pay by mail or utilize the drop box located at the Summit County Fiscal Office Services Department at 1030 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron, OH 44310. The closing date for payment will be Monday, March 1, 2021, with the exception of military personnel. Property taxes are deferred for military reservists who are on active duty. Applications can be obtained by calling 330-630-7226 or visiting our website at http://fiscaloffice.summitoh.net.
There are several convenient ways for property owners to make payment. Please note that due to COVID-19, some options have been modified to ensure the health and safety of taxpayers.
- By mail: Mailed payments must be U.S. postmarked by March 1, 2021 to avoid the statutory 10% penalty for late payment. A private meter is not valid for establishing the date of payment.
- Drop Box Location: Taxpayers can submit tax payments by using the drop box located at the Summit County Fiscal Office Services Department at 1030 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron, OH 44310 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Any payments made through the drop box that create an overage will be applied to the next tax bill. The Summit County Fiscal Office continues to offer assistance to manufactured homeowners who have delinquent taxes.
