Scalise CPA, CFE invites dog owners to submit a photograph of their pet to be featured in the “Licensed Dog of the Day” social media campaign. The campaign is intended to bring awareness about dog registration and remind residents to purchase a 2020 dog license before January 31, 2020.
The “Licensed Dog of the Day” campaign will highlight one dog per day from December 2nd through January 31st, which is the deadline to purchase a current dog license. Selected dogs will have their photograph featured in a social media post on the Fiscal Office’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. The post will use the hashtag #LicensedDogoftheDay and include biographical information about the dog, such as unique traits and personal stories.

Dog licenses can be purchased beginning December 1, 2019 through January 31, 2020. The cost is $18 for a one-year tag, $54 for a three-year tag, and $180 for a permanent tag. All dogs in Summit County are required to be registered and licensed in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 955.01.
Maintaining a current dog license will help your pet if they are ever lost or run away. A licensed dog can be identified by strangers as having an owner, which increases the odds of them returning home quickly and safely. When your dog is wearing a tag, its assigned license number can be used to identify owner information. In the instance that the Summit County Division of Animal Control finds your pet, a dog displaying its tag will be held longer than the standard 3 days.
