Akron, Ohio, January 26, 2018 – Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE has been honored for implementing electronic document recording technology by CSC, a world leader in providing business, legal, tax and digital brand services. The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in eRecording, CSC Catalyst Award was given to Summit County as part of CSC’s annual eRecording All-Star Awards program. The program nationally recognizes the work of government offices and document submitters.

The award was presented to Fiscal Officer Scalise for implementing eRecording and encouraging submitters to adopt the eRecording process. In 2015, Scalise initiated new technology to better enable eRecording and promote its use. This benefitted real estate and legal professionals who submit multiple documents daily for recording. Additionally, Scalise formed partnerships with several eRecording vendors, including CSC, to provide submitters with a trusted service for electronically submitting documents safely and securely.

Nearly one-fourth of documents recorded by the Fiscal Office are submitted through eRecording. The eRecording process provides a convenient alternative to submitting records by mail or in person. It allows real estate documents, such as deeds and mortgages, to be electronically prepared, uploaded and submitted for official recording.

“It has been one of my top priorities to introduce eRecording to the citizens of Summit County. I’m happy to say that, with the help of a great staff and innovative partners like CSC, we are now eRecording nearly a quarter of all documents that come through our office,” said Fiscal Officer Scalise. “It is an honor to receive a national award for implementing a convenient and secure eRecording system. Thank you to CSC for this wonderful recognition.”

A committee of CSC management and operations staff selected the All-Star Award winners. Summit County and the Town of Fairfield, CT were chosen for the Catalyst Award from a field of 1400 counties and jurisdictions. The program, in total, recognized six recording offices and five submitters.

“We are pleased to honor these organizations with the CSC eRecording All-Star Awards. Each recorder and submitter is a leading example of industry participants who recognize the benefits of streamlining recording processes through our eRecording services,” says Kevin Kinderman, director of eRecording Solutions at CSC.
