Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE, Probate Court Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer, and Clerk of Courts Sandra Kurt are pleased to announce that they will continue to host their community program titled Your Family Matters: Options to Protect Your Heirs and Assets. The program will kick-off another season in April, with the first presentation scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Akron-Summit County Library, 60 S. High St., Akron, Ohio 44308. Attendance is free and open to the public.
Your Family Matters provides tools to help the citizens of Summit County plan for the future. The hour-long program will review options to help protect heirs and assets upon inheritance. It will also provide answers to questions about property deeds, probate court, vehicle titles and more.
“I encourage citizens to attend a session of Your Family Matters,” Fiscal Officer Scalise said. “We will discuss options for your property that can benefit you and your family in the years to come.”
The speakers for the program will include Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE, Probate Court Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer, and Clerk of Courts Sandra Kurt. Many of the deed options discussed during the session can be prepared by the property owner, without the assistance of a third party. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
“Most of us have heard that it is wise to avoid probate, but we don’t really know why,” said Judge Stormer. “Your Family Matters takes you beyond the Good Deeds Project to give you easy tools to use to protect your family and heirs.”
For citizens unable to attend the kick-off presentation, the program will also be presented in the following venues throughout Summit County:
