Property owners are encouraged to attend this meeting for an opportunity to ask questions and express concerns about their 2014 property appraisal value. The Fiscal Office recently completed a sexennial reappraisal and assigned new property values to all real property in Summit County. Ohio law mandates that real estate situated in Summit County be appraised every six years.
To determine fair and accurate property values, county appraisers divided residential properties into appraisal "neighborhoods." Parcels within these neighborhoods shared common characteristics and were affected by similar influences. Appraisers then analyzed sales ratio reports to determine how values have changed since the last reappraisal. Once that determination was made, a value adjustment was applied to all homes in the neighborhood.
New property values can be viewed online with our Property Tax & Appraisal search. Be sure to select tax year 2014 from the drop down menu.
