Veteran Identification cards in Springfield, Hudson, Copley and Stow

Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE is pleased to announce additional locations where veterans can obtain the new veteran identification card.

Fiscal Office staff will be on-hand at the Springfield Community Center, 2491 Canfield Rd. in Akron on Monday, November 4 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Laurel Lake Retirement Community, 200 Laurel Lake Dr. in Hudson on Monday, November 11 at 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Cascade Community Development, 2360 Copley Rd., Suite #6 in Copley on Friday, November 15 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Stow Munroe Falls Public Library, 3512 Darrow Rd. in Stow on Monday, December 2 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fee for a card is $1. Veterans must present a valid DD214 and two of the following forms of identification (one of which must contain a photograph):

The new veteran identification card offers many benefits to its holder. It is similar in size and appearance to a driver’s license, so it conveniently fits into a wallet. The card can be used by veterans to identify their status. It can be accepted at some retail establishments to obtain veteran discounts and incentives, and the card has a magnetic strip which can be read by card readers with just a swipe.
