Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE announced today that she will seek election to a full term. Kristen was appointed as your Summit County Fiscal Officer on May 12, 2011. She manages the auditor, recorder and treasurer divisions of the fiscal office.
Prior to her appointment Kristen served the County of Summit as Chief Deputy Fiscal Officer for 11 years. She was previously employed in the private sector as a Certified Public Accountant for 10 years.
Utilizing her skills as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner, she has established a firm level of accountability and integrity within the Fiscal Office.
Kristen has created internal controls and written policies to ensure the $1 billion annually processed by the Fiscal Office is accounted for to the penny. She monitors electronic transfers, clearing house transactions, wire transfers and approves all banking investments, tax collections, master financial reports, tax settlements and bank reconciliations.
Kristen graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She holds an Ohio Financial Accountability Certificate; she is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Kristen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants; National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; County Treasurers Association of Ohio and Government Finance Officers Association.
