Last 2011 Triennial Reapraisal Conferences

E-mail Print

Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE has announced the last of the 2011 Triennial Update Reappraisal neighborhood conferences will take place September 27, 28 & 29, 2011 at the Kenmore Community Center at 880 Kenmore Blvd. in Akron from 1:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.

Ohio law mandates our office must reappraise residential properties every six years and update the values of those properties in the third year after the reappraisal.  The year 2011 is an update year.  By law, each home’s value must be set at market value for tax year 2011.  Since taxes are one year in arrears, the value changes will be reflected on the tax bills to be mailed in January 2012.

Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise invites homeowners to review and discuss their 2011 property values by attending this last meeting.  Staff members from the Appraisal Department will be present to answer any questions you may have regarding property appraisals.

All value complaints must be filed with the Fiscal Office by Monday, October 3, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Concerns received after the deadline date must be decided by the Summit County Board of Revision. Complaint forms will be available January 1 through March 31, 2012, per Ohio law.
