The Summit County Fiscal Officer's Services Division is responsible for the issuance of various licenses. The department also maintains a record of manufactured and mobile homes. Taxes are due March 1 and July 31 each year.
The Fiscal Officer is the Sealer of Weights and Measures for the entire county and has the responsibility of insuring that all state laws relating to weights and measures are strictly enforced.
Consumer protection is handled through our Weights and Measures Department. Their function is to make sure that the consumers of Summit County are getting what they pay for by testing devices in retail stores and gas stations for accuracy. Summit County is the only county in Ohio that tests fuel for octane levels, sediment, contamination and water. Look for current year Weights and Measures seals on all weighing devices.
The Services Department is the focal point in Summit County for the issuance of dog, cigarette, firewood and vendor licenses.
