Taxes can be paid through our Regional Tax Collection System. A list of participating banks is on the front of the tax bill; make checks payable to the institution.
You do have the option to pay your tax bill with a credit card or e-check online or by phone. Payments are processed by Official Payments Corporation, which charges a service fee. To pay by phone, call 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829). Follow the instructions on the recorded message. You will need to have your tax bill and the jurisdiction code for Summit County, which is 4596.
Tax payments can be mailed. Those payments must be U.S. postmarked by July 16, 2010 to avoid the statutory penalty for late payment. A private meter is not acceptable.
Fiscal Officer Donofrio advises all taxpayers it is their responsibility to obtain and pay their tax bill on time. If you have not received a tax bill, call 330-643-2588 before the deadline of July 16 to avoid the statutory 10% penalty. You can visit Property Tax & Appraisal and print your own tax bill.
