Rental Property Deadline

Residential Rental Property requirements deadline approaching;

Summit County Fiscal Officer John A. Donofrio reminds residential rental property owners that the Fiscal Office has implemented the residential rental property policy in accordance with enacted legislation. Ohio Revised Code Section 5323.02 requires the owners of residential rental property to register with our office. Requirements include the residential rental property address and the owner name or contact person, address (no P.O. Box) and phone number.

Fiscal Officer announces last day to pay taxes;

Summit County Fiscal Officer John A. Donofrio reminds taxpayers that the second half 2009 Real Estate tax deadline is Friday, July 16, 2010. Residential homeowners who are unable to pay second half taxes can enroll in our Tax Installment Program and make monthly installment payments. Taxes must be current; the deadline to sign up is July 16, 2010. Call our office at 330-643-2678 for more information

Homestead Exemption and 2.5% Tax Reduction deadline approaching;

Summit County Fiscal Officer John A. Donofrio has announced today that the deadline for filing an application for Homestead Exemption and the 2.5% Tax Reduction for tax year 2009 is Monday, June 7, 2010.  Real estate taxes are one year in arrears.  Applications are available in our office or online the first Monday in January until the first Monday in June.

Tax Installment Plan

Summit County Fiscal Officer John A. Donofrio is pleased to announce his office is again offering his Tax Installment Plan for homeowners. The program provides relief through monthly installment payments for residential homeowners who are facing financial difficulties because of our ongoing economic conditions.

This continues to be the first program of its kind in Ohio.

Dog & Kennel Licenses

New 2010 Dog & Kennel Licenses now available;

Summit County Fiscal Officer John A. Donofrio has announced 2010 dog licenses will be available for purchase as of December 1, 2009. 2010 license renewal forms are being mailed to dog owners the week of December 1, 2009. Dog licenses cost $14. Ohio law requires licenses to be renewed between December 1 and January 31 each year. A late fee equal to the cost of the license will be charged for applications received after January 31, 2010.
