Auditor Division

Welcome to the Summit County Fiscal Office Auditor Division.

As Auditor, John Donofrio acts as the county's Chief Fiscal Officer, Chief Assessor, Chief Payroll Officer, and Sealer of Weights and Measures. These duties require the office to provide taxpayers, consumers, school districts and local governments a variety of services, all of which are part of this site. Recorder Division

In 1803, Ohio was granted statehood and the Ohio Legislature established the Recorder as a mandated office. In 1840 Summit County started preserving their own records. In 1991, a charter amendment was passed in Summit County to merge the Recorder's Office with the county Auditor's office beginning in 1997. In 2001, the voters passed a charter amendment to merge the county Auditor's office with the county Treasurer's office into a new office.

Services Division

The Summit County Fiscal Officer's Services Division is responsible for the issuance of various licenses. The department also maintains a record of manufactured and mobile homes. Taxes are due March 1 and July 31 each year.

The Fiscal Officer is the Sealer of Weights and Measures for the entire county and has the responsibility of insuring that all state laws relating to weights and measures are strictly enforced.

Treasurer Division

Welcome to the Summit County Fiscal Office Treasurer Division.

The Treasurer Division of the Fiscal Office is responsible for the collecting of Real Estate Taxes on all properties in Summit County. They mail real estate tax bills semiannually. There are 74 tax districts with approximately 270,000 tax bills mailed each collection.

The two most noted and largest dollar amounts collected come from real estate and personal property taxes. Other taxes collected are mobile home taxes, inheritance, hotel-motel and special assessments.
